Round 2 of the Gorrick Spring Series yesterday was my first race of the year, and first race on my new Whyte 19. The course at Crowthorne was the usual Gorrick mix of twisty singletrack and short power climbs, a mix that means flat out racing with nowhere to rest, or hide. Next Sunday is the second round of the Gorrick Spring Series of mountain bike races, and will mark my first race of the year, and my first ever race on my brand new Whyte 19 Carbon, our Bike of the Month for March. Training has gone as well as can be expected, given the somewhat extreme weather that we have had this winter. Spending an hour on the turbo at 6:30 in the morning when it is so cold the sweat…
